We aim to collect and repurpose 1M glass bottles through our reverse vending machines across the UK in the first year of operation.

WHERE IT ALL STARTED
The idea came to the founder Rachid Bouasria after finishing a research in glass recycling and glass bottle making in the UK. The amount of waste, energy consumption and CO2 emissions were eye watering. So he decided to do something about it by founding BOTTLESMART.
Bottlesmart is a Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) concept tailored specifically for the UK market. The RVM will contain UK specific hardware and IOT systems conveniently placed in strategic locations with ZERO effect on local infrastructure and participating businesses. The project is currently in the early stages of raising its initial seed investment.
The RVM system will primarily deal with glass bottles but has also the option to collect other single use containers such as plastic bottles and cans.
Working with the UK Government, BOTTLESMART’s aim is to efficiently and successfully tackle the glass bottle waste in the UK.
BOTTLESMART ® is a UK specific concept, planned to be user friendly and a convenient repurposing system that could one day eliminate glass bottle waste and; potentially reduce 600,000 tons of CO2 emissions on yearly Champagne bottle production alone!
